The Department of English was formed in 1967 since the inception of the Jowai Government College which was later re-named Kiang Nangbah Government College in 1983. Shri Dringson Challam was the founding member of the Faculty of the Department. He also served as the Principal-in-Charge from September 1967 to October 1968. Over the years, the Department has gone from strength to strength, and has had a number of successful students from all the three streams of Arts, Science and Commerce. We organized two National Seminars in the Years 2016 & 2017. The Department currently has a Faculty of seven highly qualified professors and lecturers.
