The Department of KHASI first came into existence in the year 1967, with the introduction of Arts Stream in the college, named as Pre-University Arts and Science Stream (Classes XI and XII) under affiliation to Guwahati University of Assam. In 1987, permanent affiliation from North Eastern Hill University, Shillong, to conduct 3 Year B.A Khasi Honours Course, where Final Examinations were held by the affiliating University annually. At present,we offer the same degree under Semester System since 2015.
