The Meghalaya Government College Teachers’ Association which is popularly known as MGCTA was registered under Government of Meghalaya vide Registration No. SR/TMGCTA-11/89 OF 1989. The MGCTA was formed with a purpose to safeguard and improve the general conditions of service of all its members individually and collectively.The MGCTA aims to foster a healthy and fraternal relationship among its members while providing essential support to those in distress, including their families. It encourages the exchange of ideas to enhance teaching quality by organizing lectures, debates, symposia, and seminars. The association is committed to promoting study, research, and investigation on academic issues, with a focus on publishing relevant journals, books, and bulletins for the benefit of the government. Additionally, MGCTA strives for comprehensive improvement in the educational landscape of the state. It seeks to establish friendly relations and cooperation with similar teachers' associations both within and outside the state, ensuring that such partnerships do not conflict with public policies as defined by the state, and are subject to government approval. Lastly, MGCTA is dedicated to maintaining and nurturing a close relationship between teachers and students in the shared pursuit of knowledge.
